Kfifane is famous for its Maronite monastery, the Monastery of Sts. Cyprian and Justina, and is an important pilgrimage site because it houses the tomb of Blessed Estephan Nehme, a venerated Maronite monk. Although the name “Mar Estephan” usually refers to Saint Stephen and several churches in Lebanon are named after him, the main religious site in Kfifane is not a church called “Mar Estephan,” but rather the monastery and shrine of Blessed Estephan Nehme.
