Valley trails douma

The Douma Side Trail is a loop that starts in Douma Square and ends at the natural site of Baatara Sinkhole. One route follows the historic Damascus Way (“Sikket el Sham”), an ancient trade road linking Damascus to the Lebanese coast through Douma. This path passes landmarks such as the olive press, Ain Aakfol, Jouret el Maqtoul plain, and offers beautiful views of the Tannourine and Laqlouq highlands before descending to the sinkhole.
The second route climbs through Foghri Mountain, passing Douma Club, Ain El Faouqa, the Melki tomb, and cherry orchards. It continues across El Ghommas plain with panoramic views before joining the LMT trail and reaching Baatara Sinkhole. From there, hikers can return to Douma or continue toward El Aaqoura.
